In the recently concluded RoboMaster 2026 Robotics Competition National Grand Finals, Tongji University’s SuperPower Team fought their way through fierce competition—from the group stage all the way to the playoffs—ultimately securing fourth place nationwide and setting a new record in team history!

From Returning to the Nationals to Standing in the Top Four
Behind this remarkable achievement lie a full season of perseverance and breakthroughs. Step by step, SuperPower advanced from the top 8 in the Shanghai Campus League, to the top 8 in the Northern Regional Competition, and ultimately to fourth place in the National Grand Finals. Notably, during the final playoffs, the team staged a resilient comeback from the losers' bracket, defeating multiple formidable rivals. Under intense pressure, the members demonstrated solid technical prowess, highly efficient teamwork, and exceptional mental fortitude, bringing the name of Tongji SuperPower into the national top four for the very first time.
This accomplishment is more than a new record; it represents the joint efforts and inherited spirit of multiple generations of team members.

From algorithmic control to system integration, every iteration of the robots encapsulates hundreds of debugging sessions. The highlights on the field last only a few minutes, yet the underlying research and development span the entire year.

Hardcore Quality: Building a Solid Foundation for the Competition
From daily-use teach pendants to circuit board covers built for intense combat, and from flexible motor interfaces to shock-proof video transmission modules—the brutal match environment puts material strength, toughness, and durability to the ultimate test.
Throughout the season, Kexcelled’s high-performance materials offered full-spectrum support for the team:
- THE K5™ PLA: With excellent impact resistance and top-tier dimensional stability, it gives critical protective covers and control parts high rigidity and reliability. It easily deflects projectile hits while keeping parts accurate and durable through constant use.
- THE K8™ TPU 95A: Featuring high flexibility, great wear resistance, and shock absorption, it absorbs heavy vibrations and bumps. This reduces stress on cables from repeated bending, keeping power and signal connections rock-solid.
- THE K8™ TPU 64D: Combining high hardness with great toughness, this advanced flexible material was used to print chain guards. It stands up to heavy blows, preventing the chain from slipping or breaking during fast maneuvers and hard hits, keeping the drive system running smoothly.
From early prototypes to real-battle deployment, Kexcelled 3D printing materials helped the team lighten their designs, iterate fast, and keep costs low—providing the most reliable backbone for the robot’s performance on the field.

2024 was the lowest point for the SuperPower Team. Rebuilt in 2022, the team faced tight budgets and a lack of sponsorships, relying solely on our shared passion for technology to keep going. Kexcelled's sponsorship that year was like a beacon of light cast upon us as we persevered in the dark. It made us realize that technological obsession was no longer our sole reason to endure—there were people watching us, recognizing our hard work, creative efforts, and daily pursuits. Anyone who has hit rock bottom understands that when wandering alone in pursuit of a dream, another party's presence feels like rain after a long drought. Even if quiet, it provides enough courage to embark on the journey once again. Driven by this support, SuperPower continued to build momentum, eventually breaking team records to secure a top-8 national finish in the 2025 season.
What does building robots rely on? The speed of iterative verification. From initial demos to vehicle deployment, when a potential solution flashes through your mind, the ability to rapidly test it determines whether a approach can be reliably validated—a crucial step toward genuinely solving the problem. This season brought major rule overhauls and complete terrain redesigns, presenting immense challenges for a team with limited funding. Yet having overcome rock bottom, we lacked no courage to start afresh. We iterated and verified time and again, prioritizing ultimate stability over novelty in configuration.
Kexcelled's reliable material support and rapid delivery perfectly matched our iteration pace, guiding us through complex ideas to rule out flaws, balance trade-offs, and find the optimal solution within our constraints. Enduring day after day of relentless effort, SuperPower broke team records once more in the 2026 season, reaching the national top four.
